I want to share Durant Barristers' Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). During October and November, we created space in our regular monthly staff meetings to brainstorm where we have influence in our communities, social circles and profession and how we can use that influence to work towards achieving the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action.
We focused on Calls to Action #27, #28, #90 and #92. These Calls focus on the legal profession, sports and the corporate sector. I strongly encourage you to look beyond #27 and #28 to see what other Calls to Action may relate to your practice areas, volunteer work or hobbies.
As we enter December, and inevitably we start setting goals and planning for the new year, I would encourage you, both personally and professionally to consider how to can work towards fulfilling the TRC's Calls to Action.
I am sharing the action plan before, both to help other firm's draft their own, but also to encourage our accountability to meeting these goals.
